I haven't posted anything in a while now, but for good reason - I have taken several plein air painting trips, and have happily devoted my time to more painting! I love the whole experience of painting on location - it is an extremely valuable learning tool, and the artistic aspect of seeing nature close up leads to seeing colors and values that you will never see in photographs. And, these plein air studies serve as both reference and inspiration for paintings done back in the studio.
This 8 x 10 plein air painting was done in southern France, at
Chateau Theron, a beautiful winery and restaurant.
